Lion Sandra (Sandy) Ball
Zone Chair H2 2009 - 2010
Sandy was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. In 1999, she and the love- of-her- life- and-soon-to-be partner in Lions service, PZC Ken Ball were wed. They have two children and one grandchild.
Sandy was invited into the wonderful world of Lionism in 1994 while living in the Northwest Territories. She transferred into the Mount Vernon Club 5 years later. Sandy has served as Chair of various committees and projects, including the annual Food Drive and White Cane Days, and she has volunteered her services as Zone Secretary and Bulletin Editor for PZC’s Ken Ball & Rock White. She has also been privileged to serve as Vice President, President and Secretary in Lions. Sandy is the recipient of Lion of the Year for 2001/2002 and 2007/2008. She earned her Secretary Excellence Award in 2004/2005 and she is the recipient of the Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship.
When she’s not serving with others in Lions, Sandy can be found helping out at her church, building a web site or volunteering with the local food bank board. In her “spare” time Sandy works full time for Skagit County government as a Systems Manager providing computer technical support for County employees, and she goes for an occasional motorcycle ride with PZC Ken.
Sandy is excited about working with the clubs in Zone H2; helping in any way she can.
